The Wedding of Carly and Mitch. Part 1.

Many, many months ago I was contacted by a lovely previous client, asking if I would be interested in photographing a Wedding in the Outback. Brewarrina, NSW to be exact.

Let me think about that for a second.

“Oh, YES!
Now tell me where Brewarrina is exactly??” :)
(For those of you who don’t know – it’s in the middle of nowhere)

The time leading up to the Wedding was stressful as the area was under water due to flooding. The Ceremony/Reception venue was cut off for 6 weeks and the roads only opened again a couple of weeks before the Wedding date. Prior to that, the owners had been using a boat to get around. Hard to imagine when you look at the photos.

There’s just so much I want to say about Carly and Mitch and this wedding, but I fear my words won’t do it justice. I talk in photos.
Hopefully they show the atmosphere, the family involvement, the preparation, the hard work that went in to making their day perfect.

The Ceremony and Reception were held at the same location. If you ever have the chance to do the same, I can’t stress enough what a fantastic idea it is.
Guests started arriving in the days leading up to the Wedding. Everyone pitched in and helped string the metres and metres of fairy lights and hang the glass jar lanterns.
They cleaned, they talked, they laughed, they drank :) We all woke on the morning of the Wedding and everyone was in such a great mood.
The girls got busy dressing the tables and putting the finishing touches around the Reception. Carly and her Bridesmaid decorated the Ceremony location (in hair rollers).
